That said almost all the current small SUVs have modern styling BUT in a conservative fashion which is unlike the Juke which was designed to stand out.

Holden Trax Vs Nissan Juke Exterior: Obviously the Juke is a cool looking car. Most of use like the look but there are design touches that look unfinished which we guess is the point overall it does work! However it doesn’t look quite outrageous as it would have a few years ago when released. The Holden Trax is a the opposite of the Juke being designed to be more practical and inoffensive to look at. However the Trax’s rear end is awkward especially straight on. We like the look but consider it dated. The Trax design reminds us of a larger version of the last generation Toyota Yaris.

Holden Trax Vs Nissan Juke Interior: The Juke’s interior looks great. It’s styling is clearly modern and appeals to more youthful and geeks. Yes, the kids preferred the Juke 100%. From the high tech look seat trim to the various screens and center console draws the eyes and touch. However the quality some materials could be much better (Eg. the instrument cover) although considering the starting price/features and age its quite good and better than the already dated Trax interior. Although a smaller car then the Trax the Juke’s the front passengers felt larger and more comfortable than the Trax.

The Trax interior is not a exactly a premium place to be in. It’s grey on grey colour scheme and many materials are from cars a generation or so ago. The dash amongst other things is a hand me down from a cheaper Barina for example. For a brand new model the Trax here and overseas its not a good place considering that its priced over 25 grand with the 90% requested automatic gearbox!

Holden Trax Vs Nissan Juke engine and technology: The Juke wins primarily due to the top range model which comes standard with Nissan GTR based 4WD system for on-road handling rather than off road. The ability to partially customise the experience via the on board computer like power modes as well has displaying performance information like G force makes it a gadget owners dream – especially those who aspire to a GTR but can’t afford it! The turbo charged 140Kw engine is a good thing too! The base model comes with a low powered engine but since its 200kg lighter than the Trax makes up for the difference. The incar entertainment system is only slightly less advanced as the one in the Trax as the Juke requires the phone to have the apps rather than the car its self. In the long term this the the better route to take than the built in Trax system which will leave owners very upset when they have to pay for what is rightful free operating system fixes and upgrades.

To conclude so far we think that the new Holden Trax is still overpriced in this comparison to the Nissan Juke. If you want an SUV with normal performance, average built but reasonably spacious and decent looking small SUV that really shouldn’t be called small than the Trax is it. The Trax is in the wrong category and that’s why it suffers in this comparison. For example we’d go for the Nissan Dualis than the Trax. For those who like the Juke’s looks the mid range Juke the ST-S we think is probably the best value small SUV. With the turbo charged 4 it is the best fun on the road and reasonably practical and importantly the kids will love it too. The top range 4WD Juke model is the pocket rocket of the small SUVs there’s nothing else like and deserves your consideration, although it is quite expensive.

Holden Trax

Nissan Juke

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" style="border-style: initial;
