We think this is one of the most appropriate comparisons because the ASX and the Trax are very similar in size, spec and of course price (We noticed some typos in prior comparisons – now fixed) To be completely honest from the start, the all new Holden is not a great leap forward from the ASX. Some press call it micro SUV or the but we think they are not being honest. It is a small SUV but certainly not the smallest SUV in the class.

Holden Trax Vs Mitsubishi ASX Exterior: The ASX exterior design was slightly awkward form the start but has some nice styling here and there. The Peugeot 4008 version and Citroen C4 Aircross do a better job with the same platform! The Holden Trax still looks like a bigger version of the old model Toyota Yaris which is not a bad thing just not enough edge to last the expected 4 year model cycle in which all its competitors will have released new models.

Holden Trax Vs Mitsubishi ASX interior: The ASX shows it’s age, but again if you get the Peugeot version and Citroen models you will feel happier in the longer run. As before the Trax is Ok but too many carry over bits from cheaper models.

Holden Trax Vs Mitsubishi ASX engine and technology: Easy equal score for both. The ASX can be purchased as a 2WD or AWD where as the Trax is front drive only for the time being. Engines are very similar but the ASX produces slightly more power and the CVT auto means its maximised. The Trax is noticably The Trax has the better featured stereo system which is a good thing pity about the sound quality though.

Holden Trax Vs Mitsubishi ASX road test: Currently zero interest.

To conclude so far we think the Holden Trax ia catchup effort and wished they used the packages with more higher end trim – just to make a difference. For example using the same interior from the higher spec Buick Encore for the US or even the Opel Mokka from Europe which are the same car. Once again we are being ripped off. As it stands we rank the older ASX and Trax as equals overall and recommendation to buy – if you have been convinced. The ultimate better buy is the Peugeot 4008 or Citroen C4 Aircross at least they look nicer? and feel more classy for your dollars.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
