The Chery Tiggo 4 was released late last year very quietly and it’s offering the cheapest smallish SUV available in Australia. There quite a few models in the category but only 1 other promotes their vehicles as the cheapest in the country. All newer brands not just Chery still need to prove their shaky brand images so there is nothing to loose at being the cheapest. In comparison the Mitsubishi ASX is definitely a model that has been around the block for at least 20 years and has proven its self its doesn’t boast the cheapest tag any more but it’s pretty close. The ASX has been discontinued but there are plenty of stock as it was prepared for.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Mitsubishi ASX exterior comparison: They look very similar to be honest. However the more you look at the Tiggo 4 you’ll see VW T-Roc and T-Cross elements where as the ASX is an ASX. Both are nice designs and clearly the generic shape for small SUVs.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Mitsubishi ASX interior comparison: The Tiggo4 Pro clearly has the more modern interior with the new class standard for dual tablet screens and panel like centre console. The interior materials a good for the price point but overall a little ‘thin’. In comparison the ASX interior is rather dated but looks feels solid.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Mitsubishi ASX engine and technology comparison: There are no fancy interior tech in either model the main difference is that Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has a turbo charged engine and the ASX does the same with bigger engines. All small capacity turbo charged engines seem to have a finite turbo module life span and we suspect that the Tiggo 4 pro is no different.

The conclusion and winner of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Mitsubishi ASX comparison is the Tiggo 4 Pro sort off. For buyers in buying the cheapest SUV with the most stuff is concerned the package of the Tiggo 4 Pro is unmatched at the time of this review with a first release price tag of $24,000 AUD drive away. Sure longer term durability is a concern for potential Tiggo 4 Pro buyers but the flashy presentation may be enough to convince you to buy one and give it a go. However since the country they are made in currently has arbitrary bans on Australian products we suggest you consider carefully.

Mitsubishi ASX

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro

Engines

4 Cylinder petrol (91 Octane)
2.0 Litre (1998cc)
DOHC VVT EFI
Claimed 110Kw @ 6000RPM
Claimed 197Nm @ 4200RPM

4 Cylinder Petrol Turbo
1.5 Litre (1498cc)
DOHC EFI
Claimed 108Kw @ 5500RPM
Claimed 210Nm @ 1750RPM

4 Cylinder petrol (91 Octane)
2.4 Litre (2360cc)
DOHC VVT EFI
Claimed 123Kw @ 6000RPM
Claimed 222Nm @ 4100RPM

Weight

Kerb weight 1390 Kg
Towing capacity up to 1400kg

Kerb weight FROM 1388Kg
Towing capacity up to N/A kg

Fuel capacity &
