Not exactly an ‘equal’ comparison but still valid since both are priced in the category. If you view the technical specifications of both models the are similar yet different. Specifications are for 2008 models. The details are listed below and you can read the 150 series comparison in the separate section.

Of course technical similarities do not always mean that superior specifications or better performance. Real life experience with both models are needed to judge properly. However in this case the Prado is the better car. See below for specification and price differences between the Patrol and 120 series Prado.

The Nissan Patrol has been available in its current model cycle for over 10 years. Very few cars have that sort of longevity! Not many improvements or technical changes have been made to the basic model for various reasons. It is also not for sale in many countries.

We like the Patrol and was initially on the shopping list but as you will discover it feels very dated, slow and unrefined in comparison. In isolation the Patrol is actually a decent car for on and off road use and one that will be reliable for many years just remember to get it serviced often.

The Nissan Patrol is also relatively very well priced to buy especially considering its top of the class off road, towing, long distance touring abilities and course if you need interior space. Just make sure the car has been serviced if you are buying used.

120 series LandCruiser Prado (2002-2010)

Nissan Patrol (GU Series)

Engines

1GR-FE –
