The CH-R is one of the newest small SUV models released about two years ago globally. The CH-R is a great seller despite the pricing and in spite of main stream journalists complaining that it looks too modern for mass market appeal. The 2020 ASX update bring its up to date with other Mitsubishis’s and the overall package is price and spec appealing.

Mitsubishi ASX Vs Toyota CH-R exterior comparison: The CH-R has striking looks which is unusual for a Toyota it seemed more like a Lexus. However if this is the way of future Toyota exterior design than it’s a great first model. The 2020 ‘facelift’ is unnoticeable and arguably makes it more conservative. Back to the ASX and it in terms of design it’s looking very 2020 but in a lower middle class and first new car or SUV way. Nothing wrong with that because it the economic climate value is the key.

Mitsubishi ASX Vs Toyota CH-R interior comparison: The CH-R interior has a nice interior with quality marital and design. I feels very safe yet mildly modern yet what you’d expect in 2020 interior design. Despite its physical size the interior is still not large and it is closeting. It’s very a 2020 Toyota is the best way to describe it. The ASX in comparison feels roomy with lots of light but you do feel the less than modern interior design and materials. However for the price is a decent place to be in especially for those upgrading from older cars or SUVs.

Mitsubishi ASX Vs Toyota CH-R engine and technology comparison: Toyota for once, has a modern small capacity turbo engine and a hybrid engine option. It is equipped with a CVT but honestly it really doesn’t matter in this sort of car i.e. good looks but commuter drivetrain and fuel economy. Safety systems are up to date and comprehensive including the very useful adaptive cruise control . The CH-R template is basically the Toyota Celica but in SUV format. The ASX in comparison has lots of gadgets but modern yet old school non-turbo engines and with almost acceptable fuel economy. The only area it tops the CH-R is the towing capability and Harmon Kardon speaker system in the top of the range models.

The conclusion and winner of the Mitsubishi ASX Vs Toyota CH-R comparison is the ASX. The ASX wins again for the the price for spec, safety and space compared to the CH-R. Now that the 2020 ASX is easier on the eye it’s a much easier package to recommend. A full equipped ASX for the price of an entry level CH-R is an interesting decision in the showroom and test drive. The modern and refined CH-R vs the ASX’s acceptable on road experience in the ASX but with all the comforts of much more expensive cars. In peak hour traffic, school and shops run the ASX is arguably the better SUV to be in because it’s much cheaper. However if a one car or SUV family than the fuel economy and upmarket design of the CH-R is worth the extra.

// google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
