The all new 2021 Nissan Juke has been released and we managed to have a good look at it in the showroom. The comparison against the Eclipse Cross is not really a direct competitor as the Mitsubishi is larger and positioned differently but the prices overlap hence justifies this comparison.

Nissan Juke Vs Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross exterior comparison: The Juke no longer has a controversial design on the outside. It now looks more like a trendy small and sporty SUV that could be from any other manufacturer rather than something special. The Eclipse Cross looks good and it;s overall conservative but it is dated compared to the new Juke’s design.

Nissan Juke Vs Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross interior comparison: The new Juke’s interior is a nice place to be in and suits it’s asking price. We like the top range Juke very much even taking the price into account! Sure it doesn’t have luxury level material quality but it’s definitely better than the last model and definitely class average in 2020. Like the exterior the interior design is no longer ‘special’ and best described a modern place to be in. In comparison the Eclipse Cross has a very conservative interior deign and choice of materials and is the best description. We are quite sure you’ll prefer the Juke’s interior although it is smaller.

Nissan Juke Vs Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross engine and technology comparison: The Juke has been given a new engine and transmission drive train. It no longer has GTR inspired AWD system but the CVT is thankfully gone, however it’s replacement is a DCT or DSG gearbox which is a good and bad thing. The engine is a tiny turbo charged 1 litre 3 cylinder engine makes decent power but it’s quite low in terms of outright power. In fact it equates to a 1.8 non-turbo engine but has more accessible mid range power curve. The Eclipse Cross has a nice turbo engine and CVT combo but at least its faster. Safety systems are dependent on model grade for both but at least auto brakes are standard. The Juke however scores bonus points for having a really nice BOSE stereo system on certain models.

The conclusion and winner of the Nissan Juke Vs Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross comparison is a draw. The main problem with the Juke is pricing and the lack of a more powerful engine option. Everything else about makes it a new perfect package for a small SUV. There is also the problem of reliability with shared Renault parts. The Eclipse Cross is still decent SUV and worth considering but it really should have been priced as and ASX replacement rather than a separate model.

// google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
