Honda Motorcycles
Updated :  24 September 2012

Honda motorcycles have been around for ages. In fact they have supported the company in a financial sense and its reputation ever since the start.  Honda has had many landmark models in the under 250cc class (Eg. NSR250 and CBR250RR) over the years. But in my opinion the 250 Magna or V25 Custom for example was probably the best - cruisers in terms of looks. Unfortunately Honda has also made a few 'what the?' models like the 250 Rebel.

The company has over the years won every single motor racing championship both motorcycle and car. As a result just like in the car world - if you can't decide which motorcycle to get then choose a Honda - any Honda.

Personally if you can find a used one get the V25 or Magna. It's a great looking bike and for a custom or cruiser that is hard to fault. My second choice would be the CBR250RR the sportiest out of all this class. Remember that in Australia these 2 motorcycles where very expensive priced from $9990 new in the 90's so official imports are quite rare.

The Honda CBR125R is an amazing little motorcycle.  Sure it only has 125cc but it got the latest EFI so the power delivery is maximised in almost all instances.

It may be thin but it is quite long furthermore it should be reliable since it is used as a basis for developing countries 'premium' sports bikes. As a result it looks great!  Sure the Kawasaki 250R is bigger but it's twice the price.

The all new Honda CBR250R Australian release date is 20th of March 2011 and is the claimed successor to old CBR250RR first sold in the late 1990's. Unlike the original this one is NOT as high tech. Conventional steel frame and single cylinder says it all but at least it looks good and is well made based on the example at the motor show. I think the new 250 Ninja will still be the better choice.

The successor to the ubiquitous CB250. What can I say?  The CBF - you've probably ridden during your motorcycle licensing course and probably even contemplated getting one for real. NO! motorcycling is not about conforming like this!

The CBF250 is a safe bike to get if you must - but wouldn't it be nice to try something else?  I would seriously consider the Hyosung GT instead of the CBF.

This is a virtual clone of the Ducati Monster if ever I saw one, except that its a bit smaller.  Unlike some clones this one actually looks good.  What happened to unique Honda designs?  Perhaps Honda wanted to get back at Ducati for cloning it's sporties?  Who knows...

Aside from the clone looks the VTR spec wise seems like a great little bike and worth considering.

This model has been around for years and despite being so I've never ridden one.  So what I say?Well, similar to what I had to say for the other trail/off road bikes in this class.  See the Kawaski page for more comments.

Summed up it seems like a decent bike it looks just as good as the brands.

This model has been around for years.  It was available new back in the 90's for a few years but it was way too expensive at around $10,000.  You can only get one as a grey import these days or privately imported new from Japan.  Hence it is quite rare but gee it looks good!

The Honda V25 is the best looking custom cruiser under 650cc you can buy.  The Yamaha XVS250 in the styled in traditional or classic cruiser rather than the Custom style which the V25 clearly is!

The solid rear wheel to alloy front along with beautifully angled exhausts pipes and large frame make it a standout which ever way you look at it.

How much does the Honda V25 Magna / Custom cost ?

Depends on whether you can get one on the Grey market!
