Welcome to the 2013 Ford Ranger Vs the Toyota Hilux review and comparison. It has been awhile since we’ve compared the two models so here’s the updated specification comparison of two of the best light commercial vehicle or ute models on the market at the moment.
The Toyota Hilux is old and you can tell. both inside and out! However it’s not as say Triton which is instantly ancient. A new model Hilux is not due for at least 18 months so this will have to do. The good thing about older models is that they have a proven reliability/problem history and priced very well and indeed discounts can easily be had.
The all new Ford Ranger doesn’t seem to have any consistent problems, with only the expected lemons every so often.
There is nothing really wrong with picking the Ranger or the Hilux. In the end its really the look/feel and the price really. To that end we gravitate to the mid-range Ford Ranger at the time of posting this comparison. That said if we wanted a petrol engine the energetic V6 Hilux is the only one you should be considering.
