Welcome to the Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester comparison for 2021. The Subaru Forester received a facelift earlier this year despite being one of the most popular SUVs in the world vs the ‘all new Tucson’ is an interesting comparison. Both occupy the same size and price range in the SUV class hence a worthy comparison.
Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester exterior: Our views on the new Tucson’s styling still hasn’t changed since the last comparison. It’s is different to most of the class outside of China and it is challenging to look at regardless. The Forester has always had conservative high rise wagon styling and the updated model is the same. However the refreshed design is arguably less conservative and the end result is a design that looks ‘aggressive’ or deliberately awkward. Ultimately we don’t really like either designs.
Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester interior: We can add more comments to the description of the Tucson’s interior design as we get more familiar with it and the words are underdone and awkward. In comparison the Subaru Forester’s interior looks and feels a nicer and more expensive place to be in. It does justify the price tag. Mind you it is feeling slightly dated by 2021 standards but the overall ambience is nice. It is certainly better than the Tucson.
Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester engines and technology: The Tucson has carry over engines which is not nice but at least there are many more safety systems as standard. It is missing standard AWD which is disappointing considering it’s price matched against the Subaru Forester. The Forester has the same shared engines across the Subaru range and it’s a decent one but not economical and certainly not an exciting combo with the CVT. It’s very very mild mild Hybrid engine option is hardly worth the effort or price. The problem with the Tucson catching on fire has apparently been fixed in the model.
Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester drive : N/A
The conclusion to the Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru Forester is the Subaru Forester. The Forester package is a winner especially now that the Hyundai Tucson is actually more expensive. The Forester is simply nicer to be in and has more stuff to play with. AWD is a nice feature that you don’t need to pay for when you buy the Forester.
