Welcome to the Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV comparison for 2021. What more can we say about the ‘all new’ Hyundai Tucson? – it’s an interesting SUV… The Subaru XV is not so interesting as it’s been around for years although refreshed about 2 years ago. It is a decent small SUV let down by it’s marketing and in particular it’s dealerships which it also owns. We’ve experienced it and it’s not something to recommend. Try non-Subaru dealerships is our recommendation if you really want one.

Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV exterior: Our views on the new Tucson styling hasn’t changed since the last comparison. The Tucson’s styling is arguably very modern but perhaps too awkward for mainstream success. In comparison the XV is a decent looking SUV that hasn’t really aged and there is enough of Subaru’s latest styling language to set it apart. Keeping it simple the XV looks better.

Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV interior: The Tucson interior is a modern refreshed Tarago design it nice but doesn’t look premium or worth the price even on the top spec model. It seems a parts bin design from different model generations. In comparison the Subaru XV has a great looking and feeling interior. Although the styling is may be less futuristic the XV interior loss and feels like a more expensive car than it’s price suggests.

Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV engines and technology: There are lots of safety tech in both models and dependent on model grade. Needless to say all the expected systems are there as standard including auto brakes. The diesel option its pointless in commuting and expensive but for diesel fans could be a buying point. The Subaru XV has an advantage of a very mild hybrid engine option which makes it winner on paper however it’s fuel consumption is still not impressive. That said it does have constant AWD system which doesn’t help fuel use and performance.

Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV drive : N/A

The conclusion to the Hyundai Tucson vs Subaru XV is the Subaru XV. The Subaru XV is physically smaller than the Tucson but it has just as many safety systems and AWD as standard. The XV is also cheaper – unless you really need the larger space in the Tuscon the XV is more compelling purchase. Mind you the final hurdle is the dealership.
