This is the Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comparison for 2021. The Pajero Sport is arguably the best value medium-is a sized SUV that has real off road capability. While the latest Kia Sorrento is still to carve it’s self a place in the size class. However the lack of real off road capability despite what the marketing material say hampers to differentiate it from the masses of similar sized SUV in the class.
Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport exterior comparison: The Pajero Sport despite being a few years old still looks throughly modern and a stand out in terms of styling. Nothing else looks like it – in other words. The Sorento looks good in the more expensive model grades and the only thing that marks it clearly a Sorento is the vertical rear tail lights. Nonetheless the Sorento is a derivative of various European/Japanese/North American styling and we’ve seen it before. This combination still looks though if you can afford it. We prefer the more unique looks of the Pajero Sport – unfortunately many do not.
Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport interior comparison: The Sorento interior is a large and modern place to be in. We like the styling that gives it an upmarket ambience which you would expect since you are paying more. However only in the more expensive model grades. The Pajero Sport interior is clearly a older design based on the Triton Ute so is decent but aged, the materials harder and missing the ambience gadgets used in the much more modern Sorento. We definitely prefer the Sorento interior.
Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport engine and technology comparison: The Sorento does have quite a few gadgets to play with but most of it is fluff and equipped to make you feel better about buying an expensive SUV. Carry over engines without improvement which are decent enough but disappoints for the much increased pricing. Safety systems are model grade dependent with both pretty much equal until the top end Sorento. Wireless charging and a digital dashboard on higher model grades are features that do not win a comparison along with a largely unreason price rise. The proper 4WD and traction controls in the Pajero Sport are the cream that the Sorento can only dream of.
Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport drive report : Sports car handling or outright acceleration or speed are not the requirements for an SUV. Don’t expect it in either.
The conclusion and winner of the Kia Sorento Vs Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comparison is the Pajero Sport. We are being completely honest by saying that the Pajero Sport is still the best SUV package in the class. The Pajero Sport is reasonably priced with genuine off road features and we know most will put up with the less than contemporary interior design. The Sorento is a nice looking urban SUV with some gravel road capability If you are looking for a nice looking spacious high rise wagon this should be on the list to buy – however it’s price is quite unreasonable for what it really is. Nonetheless it is a very good example of contemporary SUV 2021. We prefer more substance and off road capability the the Pajero represents.
