This is the Kia Sorento Vs Vx Toureg comparison for 2021. VW aspires to make high priced cars and SUVs and they had great interiors and paint work to entices buyers. Of course it was only skin deep and their engines and safety scoreboard wasn’t the best out there. Who can forget when a mere Corolla out performs a Golf GTI etc… Thanks to clever marketing they eventually succeeded in giving that impression to most parts of the world thanks to the VW T3 Transporter, Beetle and Golf GTI. None of them are tech masterpieces but the right model at the right time. Thanks to acquisitions of more famous and niche brands added the halo effect to mere VWs. Kia are on the same path but they do not have an iconic model to based their marque on. Kia will still take some time to bury their budget and woeful past models. So how does the new Sorento compare to the new Toureg is the Toureg worth buying over the mere Sorento?
Kia Sorento Vs VW Toureg exterior comparison: The Toureg is the second largest SUV currently made by VW and the platform is used by other brands like Audi and Skoda and Porsche. As a result the Toureg is the basis for the other even more expensive models and it does look like the base template design. It looks conservative and dated as the best description. The Sorento follows the same path but it’s tighter design gives it a sportier and modern look. Pity it’s paint job isn’t up to the same quality.
Kia Sorento Vs VW Toureg interior comparison: The Kia Sorento dependent on model grade has a gret interior. It looks and feel good to be in. It gives more than Kia have done in the past and equal to any other brand. The Toureg interior is a nice place to be in too and very dependent on model grade. When optioned it looks like a equally modern place to be with a similar dual screen setup as the Sorento. It does looks and feel better than the Kia but not by the at the least $30000 price difference.
Kia Sorento Vs VW Toureg engine and technology comparison: The Sorento as a good mainstream set of petrol and diesel engines. They are modern but quite old. The Toureg has a great set diesel engines but with turbo tuning rip off included. Safety features are dependent on model grade and we didn’t notice exceptional differences.
Kia Sorento Vs VW Toureg drive report : N/A
The conclusion and winner of the Kia Sorento Vs VW Toureg comparison is the Sorento. The Sorrento offers almost the same package as the Toureg and anything can be forgiven due to the lower price. The only differences are brand and that’s important. The vast majority of people with families will pass the Toureg simply due to price and that it is only a VW for that sort of price. Those who are really brand smitten will buy ones it is the basis for Audi, Skoda or Purchase. The more rational like us will view this as turbo tuning rip off going either way. VW is not worth the $82,000 starting price no matter you can rationalise it. Aside from being made in a ‘cheaper’ manufacturing country VW are literally laughing at any buyer willing to pay this sort of price. That said paying nearly $70,000 for top range Kia Sorento which is an 8 year old Sorento that is stretched and refreshed design in the same vein as the Mitsubishi ASX is asking a bit much.
