This is the new Nissan Qashqai Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison for 2023. Yes the title is correct and immediately think unfair! We don’t think so because they are very similar in terms of size and price. So the the new Qashqai better when compared to the CX-5?
Nissan Qashqai Vs Mazda CX-5 exterior comparison: The new Qashqai is a combination of all the latest styling elements and it works well. However being essentially generic means it blends in with it competitors. We are calling it the new conservative look for 2023. In comparison the CX-5 still looks pretty good being sporty and more premium than the Qashqai and this is regardless of model grade.
Nissan Qashqai Vs Mazda CX-5 interior comparison: The Qahqai has a nice interior that looks and most feels pretty good. However the design is generic so it could belong to any number of brands. The Mazda interior is the same but different and the most obvious difference are mostly physical gauges rather than a full display screen, until the next model gets released. Although a few years older it honestly flees and feels like a Japanese luxury interior in some models without the price tag.
Nissan Qashqai Vs Mazda CX-5 engine and technology comparison: Mazda designs and manufactures the most advanced non-turbo engines in the world. The engines make the most power and the most fuel efficient for their type. They have also equipped them with conventional but updated automatic and manual gearboxes. The CX-5 is a nice drive just like the entire and current Mazda model range. In comparison Qashqai has borrowed the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi group carry over engines and a CVT but hopefully they will be more reliable than the last generation. I guess we are saying the the drive experience is quite ordinary.
The conclusion and winner of the Nissan Qashqai Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison is the CX-5. For the price in 2023 the CX-5 is the better and cheaper option for many model grades. The selling point of the CX-5 is the driving experience. It is more connected and adjustable handler than most competitors – this factor is the selling point. Many self proclaimed professional reviews say or dishonestly claim that the the Mazdas are noisy, drone etc.. – however we know that’s not true and they aren’t silent but they aren’t noisy either. Go for a test drive and see what you think. Another myth due to the lack of english vocabulary or bias the Mazda CX-5 suspension works really well. Sure it’s firmer than most but it not harsh and it truly absorbs bumps and handles corners where as other models like the Qashqai crash through or see saw on the bumps. Finally there is the unreasonable pricing of the Qashqai which is expensive for it’s size and performance. The CX-5 is a nicer and faster drive that looks and feels premium – dependent on model grade.
