This is the latest Nissan Qashqai vs Toyota RAV4 comparison. Almost forgot include the comparison to the RAV4 for very good reasons. When we where shopping for a smaller SUV the RAV4 was equal last on the list of desirability about 4 others which you can probably guess. So how does the Qashqai compare to the RAV4? Read on.
Nissan Qashqai vs Toyota RAV4: The Qashqai is a arguably the best proportioned small SUV on the market at the moment. It’s style is ultimately conservative and certainly follows a common wagon like shoe but it does look good. The RAV4 follows the same path but along the way added styling details that made it slightly more difficult to look at – it has literally all the styling clues of any number of other brands SUVs. It departs from the original RAV4 concept and the superseded model. We don’t think it is ugly or attractive.
Nissan Qashqai vs Toyota RAV4 interior: The Qashqai does set the overall standard in terms of design. material and ambience, untouchable really at this price range in 2014. The RAv4 has a nice interior too but it does take awhile to understand the retro-ish and euro-ish themes. It’s not too bad and a little dated but mostly it doesn’t feel anything special considering the price Toyota wants for them they are much better ways of doing things. It is slightly larger than the Qashqai but then it should be for the price.
Nissan Qashqai vs Toyota RAV4 engine and technology: Both have modern engines but clearly missing the latest fuel and power efficiencies of say the standout Mazda CX-5. Toyota is not known for taking reliability risks and the RAV4 simply shares engines with other Toyota models. That said the engine do have a slight sporty feel in the upper revs band which is a nice trait.
Nissan Qashqai vs Toyota RAV4 : The Toyota is a little firm and the quite dreary hence did not buy one. There is nothing except for the different interior dash design that sets it apart from the competition. Qashqai coming soon.
The conclusion is simple, the Qashqai is the better package for the price ignoring the size difference. The RAV4 is yet another Toyota that needs a price cut and more equipment and something that sets it apart from the rest. With Nissan’s completely updated 2014 SUV range that really appeals to anyone the RAV4 and competitors will be forgotten pretty quickly.
