This is the Peugeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison for 2018. We like the CX-5 especially the top range model whereas the 3008 is a very impressive SUV for the price regardless of model grade. Sure the CX-5 is slightly bigger but the price range for both is almost identical bar the base model so worth a comparison. In reality though the CX-5 is one of the most popular small to medium sized SUVs on sale and despite the similar pricing the Peugeot 3008 is largely a curiosity or unknown.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 exterior comparison: Each to their own in regards to the design of the body but it must be noted that the 3008 is the smaller SUV. The 3008 is modern and arguably the next step in exterior design by having contrasting straight lines and contradicting curves right down to the front headlights and completely unmatched rear lights. The design works and yet isn’t too outlandish. The Mazda CX-5 is a completely modern design everything fits together from front to rear. It is a nice looking SUV that also looks smaller than it really is.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 interior comparison: The 3008 has the most impressive interior out of all the SUVs in the class we’ve been in to date. From the base 3008 to the top range all interiors are very good. It’s a very modern interior that even features cloth highlights and very good materials throughout. Although the CX-5 interior is a good place to be in, in comparison only the top range CX-5 interior can compete with the 3008 but then again the 3008 tops it with the excellent digital display system. We can’t say much more as the difference is pretty clear and the 3008 is the one to beat and be in.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 engine and technology comparison: Mazda makes the most advanced non-turbo engines in the world, they have no turbo lag and perform very well. The 3008 has the latest turbo engine and diesel with a conventional auto gearbox and both are for once are class competitive in performance. The turbo charging is a bit of a easy way out so can never win a spec comparison. Safety systems are the same including auto brakes for 2018 models. The stereo system in the 3008 is pretty good sounding but we thinking the CX-5 has the win in terms of volume but not quality however the CX-5 is missing direct Apple and Android compatibility only having bluetooth connectivity. The high tech digital dash board with so many functions is a killer feature in 2018. However as always Peugeot does not have the historical reliability or low running costs of any Mazda which is fact the hardest part to overcome but maybe the 3008 will be the one to restore the brand image.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 drive report : N/A
The conclusion and winner of the Peogeot 3008 Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison is the 3008. The 3008 may be smaller than the CX-5 but the prices do overlap so unless size is a key factor in you buying decision the 3008 is worth a look. Only a back to back drive will reveal which SUV is the better one. As for this spec and showroom comparison there is a clear winner.
