Welcome to the Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux showroom comparison for 2022. Some manufacturers have been quite busy over the last few years and due to short supply caused by the on going pandemic. One manufacturer taking advantage of this is Ssangyong. It’s a Korean brand and the model is called the Musso. They have been around for a few decades and the updated Musso scores a comparison against one of the most popular utes, the Toyota Hilux.
Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux exterior comparison: There is something ageless about the evolution of the Hilux design it looks like a Hilux. Sure it may not be as bulky as larger models like the Musso but the size is what buyers are happy with. The Musso update simply follows the rest of the Ute class and you be hard pressed to tell what brand it is without the badging. Unusually for this class there are two sizes – a Hilux competitor and a extended tray version if you want to be able to carry more stuff.
Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux interior comparison: The interior of the Hilux is not exactly spacious but it looks different from the rest and that’s the main thing. It’s more like the Corolla and Yaris of the same vintage in terms of design aka 5 years ago. It is only the Hilux that does something different by being a retro design by 2022 standards. The Musso interior is a decent place to be in for a commercial vehicle. It’s interior is more car like but has a generic T bar design. The more you pay the nicer the interior gets in the Musso.
Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux engine and technology comparison: Utes and mini trucks in 2022 are much more civilized and both models have plenty of safety system dependent on model grades. Both have proper 4WD hardware and gently of power for carrying stuff. There is very little that propels either model to the front of the pack.
Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux drive comparison: N/A
The winner of the Ssangyong Musso Vs Toyota Hilux comparison is the Musso. The Hilux wins purely due to image and branding and that it’s competitively priced but only amongst the leading models. The Musso pricing undercuts the Hilux at any model grade but if you can’t pronounce the brand name you probably should you buy it? That’s a joke folks. The Musso brand as had a good reputation with the original model released 20-30 years ago but the selling point was that it has a Mercedes Benz engine. However the new Musso does not, but it’s got a 7 year warranty to help the branding. That said Ssangyong has been around for a a few decades but has had quite a turbulent corporate history compared to other South Korean motor companies. So if you can’t afford the mainstream models why not give the Ssangyong Musso ago?
