Toyota LandCruiser Prado |
VS | Mazda CX-9 |
Here’s a quick comparison between the 150 series Toyota LandCruiser Prado and updated 2013 Mazda CX-9. To be released in December 2012 Mazda updated the front end of the CX-9 to keep it in line with the latest design theme in the range. The refreshed CX-9 looks better in real life than the pictures – they make it like an aftermarket modification (although a good one) rather than genuine.
Apart from the front end there are few changes for the CX-9 which is fair enough since its direct competitors haven’t done anything drastic or released any significant model, apart from the Hyundai Sorento/Santa Fe. The interior remains the same likewise the engines and suspension. There is an updated entertainment system on the inside with new electronic safety systems like blind spot monitor and so forth. We assume there are other various tweaks technically.
In comparison to the Toyota 150 series Prado which has not had any changes which is disappointing but expected since it doesn’t sell on the same basis as the CX-9. Rather you buy one for its reliability and durability, off road prowess and ability to customise. So nothing to report that we haven’t already said in other comparisons.
Each car appeals in different ways but we don’t think there will be minimal cross shopping.
