Welcome to the all new Hyundai Venue Vs Mazda CX-3 comparison for 2020. The Venue is one of the cheapest real cars you can buy. What we meaning by ‘real cars’ is being able to fit 4 adults in relative comfort. The CX-3 was the cheapest SUV you could buy when released in 2015 but it’s price has increased over the years and so has the number of competitors.
Hyundai Venue Vs Mazda CX-3 exterior comparison: The CX-3 is a good looking small SUV cannot be mistaken for a high rise hatchback. It has enough differences to make the top range models in particular just it’s lofty price. It may be 5 year old but the design has stood the test of time and fashion. The Hyundai Venue is clearly not about looks and more about nice looking enough in a 2020 way. It also has the size advantage over the CX-3. Unfortunately if it was the SUV look you are after the Venue doesn’t quite have it. It’s either a bloated hatchback or a mini-van without the sliding doors. That said the top model grade of the Venue does look quite decent.
Hyundai Venue Vs Mazda CX-3 interior comparison: The Venue has a nice interior, it looks modern and well made. However it’s cheapness is not hidden with hard plastics that look and feel hard. This is not a criticism as it hits the target in terms of class positioning and it is the cheapest Hyundai you can buy in the country in 2020 and Hyundai does claim anything fancy. In comparison the CX-3 has always had a nice interior that looks more expensive than it is and is still one of the nicest in the small SUV class. Even the hard plastics don’t really look like it and when optioned with the trim packs or in higher model grades looks even better.
Hyundai Venue Vs Mazda CX-3 engines and technology comparison: The CX-3 has various engines, safety systems that you cannot get on any Venue. Thats said Hyundai is not known of using the latest engine or technology and the Venue is another example, with the bravest step being the DCT automatic which technology hasn’t really worked out. If VW Audi etc… can’t get the tech working reliably it is unlikely Hyundai will. It will be interesting what will happen after the 7 year warranty expires, will we see a flood of problems cropping up?
The winner of the Hyundai Venue Vs Mazda CX-3 comparison is a draw. The pricing for the Hyundai Venue has clearly been researched against exisiting competitors. So in this comparison in real life would be the base Mazda CX-3 equipped with an automatic vs the midrange Hyundai Venue at drive away prices. Approx 26000 drive away vs 27000 for the Venue. Since there is limited street cred for either we would probably buy the top range Hyundai Venue but would sell it as soon as the transmission starts playing up and because at the time of the comparison we expected a new CX-3 to be released soon or at least another decent upgrade.
