Welcome to the Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison for 2022. Based on styling and packaging the Sportage is clearly up against arguably class leader the CX-5. We like the Sportage so far and we are impressed by the top range CX-5. Unfortunately the rest of the CX-5 line does not stand out. So how do these two models compare?
Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 exterior: The CX-5 uses the current styling theme by Mazda and still looks good despite the few years it’s been around. We think it represents the SUV concept perfectly. The newest Sportage is a contemporary design looks great cohesive apart of the rear end which looks like they just ran out of time to finish.
Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 interior: We like the new Sportage interior it’s a good looking and initial impressive design. However it’s does look ‘thin’ after a while… The digital dash is only available in the top range model and the regular gauges are OK to look at. The CX-5 model range has a largely a dark and grey interior but it mostly feels like a more substantial place to be in albeit an older or more traditional design.
Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 engines and technology: Both have equivalent safety systems dependent on model grades and have decent engine choices. The CX-5 out powers the Sportage for those interested in more performance. Since all the good tech is reserved for the top rangers for the Mazda and Kia – and there is a $20000 price difference from the entry level you still have to wonder about the value for money factor.
Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 drive : N/A
The conclusion to the Kia Sportage Vs Mazda CX-5 comparison is the CX-5. We choose the CX-5 as it generally feels higher quality than the Sportage. We are tired of looking at computer screens and yearn for the physical manifestation of quality rather and graphic and font design. In comparison the only interior/tech feature that will attract the gadget lovers in the Kia. Admittedly the Sportage does at least on the surface but only the top range model grade is a worthy choice if you can’t buy a CX-5.
