This is our Volkswagen T- Cross Vs GWM Haval Jolion comparison for 2024. It has been awhile since we looked at the VW T-Cross but we saw a few on the road recent so wrote up a comparison against on of the cheapest small SUV on sale at the moment.
Volkswagen T- Cross Vs GWM Haval Jolion exterior comparison: The comparison of looks is easily summarised. The VW T-Cross looks like a older model despite its shiny and better quality paint job. The Jolion is an older model by a few years but has only come to attention due to the huge price increases of its competitors. In that respect it still looks like a cheap SUV on the outside. Note that there are multiple versions of the Jolion – we are referring to the cheapest model.
Volkswagen T- Cross Vs GWM Haval Jolion interior comparison: The interior comparison is like the exterior comparison an easy one write up. The VW interior without any options is a little spartan and entry level place to be in. It’s no frills cloth and dials and blank or unadorned dash area, if buying one you need the optional interior package. Yes, the optional interior packages on the T-Cross do make it a nicer place to look at but at a high price. Yet it still doesn’t quite reach the Jolion with it’s dual screen dashboard and hard plastics and vinyl seats at least on the surface. The comparison only shows how clever GWM have been to make a cheap interior look flashy.
Volkswagen T- Cross Vs GWM Haval Jolion engines and tech comparison: The T-Cross is only available in one engine but oversea models have different levels of tuning so it has decent power but a big body to pull so OK performance as per our test drive last time. The Jolion has different engine options including the a hybrid but that model has a different body. Safety features are based on model grade but in terms of mostly pointless gadgets belong to the Jolion. Since they change based on current offers we won’t bother with listing them.
The conclusion and winner of the Volkswagen T- Cross Vs GWM Haval Jolion is a draw. For us they offer different selling points. The VW has a useful badge but the premium is undeserved if you haven’t done your research by now. VW interiors used to offer something more premium but certainly not in the T-Cross. The Jolion is a great effort at tarting up an old and entry level model so deserves something for the effort. Pricing for the Jolion varies greatly so watch out before committing to buying one.
