2012 Toyota Hilux Vs 2013 Isuzu D-Max comparison

Toyota Hilux
VS
Isuzu D-Max

Welcome to the 2012 Toyota Hilux vs 2013 Isuzu D-Max comparison.  The D-Max hasn’t arrived in the country yet so we pulled up all the specifications we could as of May 2012 for our own interest. The D-Max is an all new model for Isuzu and a replacement for the decade plus older model. It is a 2013 model released in 2012 – a common marketing technique used by all manufacturers. It also shares its parts with the Holden or Chervolet Colarado which will be released at about the same time. (October 2012) Now that we have had a chance to look at the new D-Max we can comment further!

First of all the there are quite a few updates to the 2012 Hilux. The Hilux gets a slightly updated interior and exterior treatments on all models which do improve looks. The top range SR5 gets the most inclusions which include LSD for the rear axel, GPS, stereo systems, automatic air-conditioning and headlights, electronic stability control, and braking systems, standard cruise control and most indicator mounted on the wing mirrors. You must check with the dealer on which model gets what as it can be quite confusing. The great thing is that they have all been lowered in price across the range.

The Isuzu D-Max on paper and in the flesh looks good that can be described as aggressive and modern but it does have styling clues from the Hilux. The D-Max’s interior does bring it down by being barely an improvement in look or feel compared to any of the older utes current for sale even the Hilua and Triton. One look on the inside and you’ll probably consider the Ford or Mazda without any hesitation.

So far we can conclude that the Hilux is very good value while the D-Max is all new … stay tuned for an update but see below for the specification comparison.
