Nissan Qashqai Vs Honda CRV Comparison

Nissan Qashqai
VS

Honda CR-V

Here is our quick Nissan Qashqai vs Honda CR-V comparison. The Qashqai is our new favorite small SUV for the rest of 2014 – as we write. The more we look and compare it with other small SUV it becomes more memorable. In fact it topples the Volvo XC60 which after the latest update no longer and pricing loses the top spot. Furthermore the Evoque also drops down out list as it becomes clear that it’s appeal only skin deep. Anyway so what about another one of favs the Honda CRV – read on…

Firstly, the CRV and Qashqai are not direct competitors since the Honda is a larger but still small or compact SUV. However since the prices do overlap we consider this justification for a direct comparison!

Nissan Qashqai vs Honda CR-V exterior: In 2014 both are essentially conservative designs. Ignoring the size difference, the Honda is clearly more ‘family’ orientated looking more square like interior. The European CR-Vs strangely look better than those sourced from Asia. The Qashqai is one of the best looking small SUVs or even compared to regular cars. Sure the rear light look a little odd compared to the ‘ sporty’ front end and side profile.

Nissan Qashqai vs Honda CR-V interior: The Qashqai has the benchmark interior in 2014 being the exact middle ground between cheap and luxury. The middle ground is exactly where most SUVs are targeted. It feels perfectly integrated and good regardless of specification level. The CRV is a nice interior too but there are some very average quality trim materials. However the CRV has a great feeling of space and flexibility that the Nissan which is good too but not quite as good.

Nissan Qashqai vs Honda CR-V engine and technology: Neither car has the latest engine technology but both are packed with the latest safety and in car tech. The CVT gearbox vs the 5 speed auto in Honda may appeal more. However the Qashqai has more safety tech like the auto parking, additional cameras in some models and a few other tech like auto braking so wins this part of the comparison.

Nissan Qashqai vs Honda CR-V drive: N/A

There is very little to separate the Qashqai and CRV in terms of specifications.  If it’s about the interior packaging of CRV which is a winner and the overall package including a heavy bias on price the Qashqai that makes it a winner. The lower entry price, quality interior and looks of the Qashqai puts it ahead of the CRV but only if we didn’t need the extra space.
