This is the new Mazda CX-3 Vs Nissan Qashqai comparison. Comparing our two favourite small SUVs is going to be quite challenging but we do enjoy it. Because both are our favourite small SUVs at the time of this post the conclusion is going to be interesting.
Mazda CX-3 Vs Nissan Qashqai exterior: We like the exterior styling of both cars, the CX-3 is based on existing Mazda Kodo themes which look good with a little bit of attitude and should handle the test of time. The Qashqai has a more traditionally sporty and attractive wedge shape. Both are good looking and choosing between the two will probably depend on what mood your in. The only factor is related to the actual physical size to which the CX-3 is a littler smaller than the Qashqai.
Mazda CX-3 Vs Nissan Qashqai interior: Both are designed in completely different ways. The CX-3 has the same style as the regular Mazda and even the new MX-5 which says that it’s a modern in style and finished with good quality materials probably the best in the class. The Qashqai is the same sort of materials too but a more traditional design than the Mazda. However due to the way the CX-3 was designed there is no impression of cheaper parts and the optional interior style pack are worth getting too! CX-3 has the better interior across the range and clearly the benchmark not for size but for quality and design.
Aside from style and materials there is a size difference. The CX-3 is smaller especially in the back seat. The angled rear door opening doesn’t help either. The Qashqai has the right amount of space and look to make it feel right at home when there are rear passengers involved.
Mazda CX-3 Vs Nissan Qashqai engine and technology: The CX-3 has the latest fuel saving tech in a non-turbo charged petrol engine. It is better than the modern but low tech in the Qashqai engine. Both cars have all the latest safety system but the smarter drive line in the Qashqai gets additional points and loses them again for a old tech rear end while the CX-3 has the better tech without the need for the extra driveline smarts and just as good without hem. The CVT in the Qashqai is great for traffic since the driveline is seamless although the engine noise on some occasions does annoy.
Mazda CX-3 Vs Nissan Qashqai drive: Coming soon.
The conclusion is difficult when trying to decide which is the best outright SUV. So in the end if you are just a couple without no kids and occasional need to carry a few people then the CX-3 is the perfect choice. If you have a young or small family then the Qashqai is better then the CX-3. Both start are great prices but the $19,990 CX-3 entry price is very convincing.
