This is the Peugeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos comparison for 2018. Both new models in the same class, French and reasonably priced, packed with features and up against virtually all the other smallish or approaching mid-sized SUVs so definitely worth a comparison.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos exterior exterior: The Renault Koleos when we first reviewed was a good looking a little different from most of the exisiting SUVs we put it against. While it was overall conservative design it had enough flair to differentiate from its competitors and it’s twin the Nissan X-Trail. Most of all it looked bigger than is really was. However with the release of the Peugeot 3008, the Koleos has lost some of it’s initial attraction. The 3008 just looks more modern with it’s floating roof aka blacked out pillars animal style lights and a gentle curve at odds with the edge theme of other SUVs at the moment. Sure the Koloes is the bigger SUV but price range overlaps for all but he base model.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos interior: The Koloes interior is a decent place to be in, but that was in 2016/2017 not quite class leading but nearly there. Unfortunately for the Koleos the new 3008 lifts the game from this and any other competitor in the class. The 3008 interior is a lovely place to be in feels more expensive than it’s price tag indicates. We noted the tablet like instrument screen and addition centre screen all as standard. We can’t say much more because it is clear cut decision and an easy win for the 3008 in the interior design and quality area.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos engine and technology: The Koleos has a good set of a petrol and diesel engine that makes enough power for their spec but it does weight significantly more than the 3008. That should be expected since the Renault is bigger and hampered by a CVT auto. The 3008 has the same engine choices but clearly the better performer due to the geared transmission and light weight. On the safety front both have all the latest desirable safety technology dependent on model grade. On the stereo side of things the 3008 in pretty decent and top range and a little less so in sound quality than the BOSE equipped Koleos.
Peugeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos drive report : N/A
The conclusion and winner of the Peogeot 3008 Vs Renault Koleos is the 3008. The Koleos is a very good SUV for the price but if you don’t need the extra space the 3008 is better in every tangible way. The Peugeot 3008 looks after the driver by a having a video screen as standard for the instruments and controls, the quality and design makes the driver feel good. Sure the higher starting price my turn off some but the equipment levels are very good it’s hard point out a flaw. That said the only thing that comes against it the brand’s historical reliability and running costs.
