Audi Q3

This is the Audi Q3 vs BMW X1 comparison. These are the smallest SUVs you can currently buy from BMW which actually engineers and makes cars and Audi that are upgraded VWs. Only the BMW is the prestige brand with it’s heavily promoted and sporting drive in past models. The Audi sells based on technical innovation? or something like that – it’s not very clear to us so remains best described and completely honestly as a upgraded VW.

BMW X1 Vs Audi Q3 exterior: Both are not attractive SUVs or convey that they are high quality or prestige from that any other brand or manufacturer. That said all have great build and fit. The Audi looks better based on our internal poll.

BMW X1 Vs Audi Q3 interior: Audi usually have interiors that define modern luxury in terms of material and design touches that lift it from the competition. While the interior quality of  Q3 is very good the same Audi stereotype as the current models – it is a little sad at this price range. The aftermarket quality addition of the screen is not impressive. The BMW interiors are never promoted as anything other than functional and driver focused and that is true for the X1. The X1 interior quality and design are very good, consistent and do feel good. Without a side by side comparison we think the X1 overall looks and feel better – better design but essentially the same materials. That said both require additional interior options to make them look or feel any better than say the latest Qashqai.

BMW X1 Vs Audi Q3 engine and technology: This time BMW gets virtually all points taken off its rating purely do to the rip of tuned turbo trick. Same engine up the boost and charge significantly more completely despicable move and one in the claimed professional press point out and that no one except us are willing to complain. Sure charge a little more but not rip of amount of money. Thankfully Audi has strangely not done this to the Q3 – yet – so wins lots of points. Technology packs are available for both models but certainly not out of the ordinary compared to say a Ford Focus ‘Titanium’ top range version or other similar sized SUVs.

BMW X1 Vs Audi Q3 drive: N/A

The conclusion to the BMW X1 Vs Audi Q3 comparison is simple yet difficult. Both are flawed in various ways to us due to price since there are just as good small SUVs for less money, in particular the Nissan Qashqai. The BMW does seem like a performance Q ship with the availability of the 180kw powered version but then the Nissan Juke (for example) has just as impressive thanks to lower weight and hi tech AWD system. So we have to consider branding and as a result the BMW X1 wins. Forget the brand image and Audi is the model to buy.
