Welcome to the Ford Ecosport vs all new Ford Puma comparison for 2021. The Ford Puma is the replacement for the Ford Ecosport in some countries and in others both are still sold as separate models. We regard the Ecosport highly as it is visually a small SUV, so is the all new Puma a worthy replacement and worth buying?

Ford Ecosport vs Ford Puma exterior: The Ecosport uses Ford’s design language for its time. This means it’s a conservative squared off design that has aged well. Overall its a good looking small SUV. The Ford Puma was initially released in 2019 and likewise based on latest Fiesta. It does look like the logical replacement for the original Ford Puma and resembles a small Porsche or Jaguar X class.  It’s best looking on the road rather than pictures.

Ford Ecosport vs Ford Puma interior: The Ford Puma interior design is slightly more modern and some better materials and features. The Ecosport has an updated interior design from 2018 that lifts the interior ambience to and almost matches the quality of the Puma but it is missing the latest digital dash. Both are nice places to be in.

Ford Ecosport vs Ford Puma engine and technology: The Puma has the better safety systems and an updated version of the ‘good’ engine from the Ecosport. Only the more expensive model grade of the Ecosport has the turbo charged 3 cylinder. The only flaw in the Puma is of course Ford’s traditionally problematic version of a DCT automatic gearbox.

Ford Ecosport vs Ford Puma road test: N/A

The winner of the Ford Ecosport vs Ford Puma comparison is a draw. It ultimately depends on what sort of small car or SUV you are after. The Ecosport package after the 2018 update makes it a very decent small SUV. It solved a lot of the initial packaging and pricing problems with the original version. Unfortunately it was too late to improve the Ecosport’s sales. In comparison the Puma looks great but overpriced. That said all manufactures have increased their pricing in the last few years for obvious reasons.
