This is the new Honda ZR-V Vs Honda CR-V comparison for 2023. It’s the last of the current generation of the Honda CR-V so we though it would be a good thing to compare the out going model with the all new ZR-V. So is the ZR-V the real replacement for the aged CR-V or is it really a separate model but mostly is it better than the Old CR-V?
Honda CR-V Vs Honda ZR-V exterior comparison: Which one you like better is definitely a personal choice but we think the old CR-V is better looking. It may have an older design but you can tell it was the more upmarket during in its day in the sun. In comparison, even as an all new model the ZR-V design for us is just a little too conservative.
Honda CR-V Vs Honda ZR-V interior comparison: The CR-V interior is a nice place to be in with plenty of space and flexibility. Sure the materials and displays look pre-2020 but it is still not too bad. The ZR-V interior is pretty good too but it just looks and feels built to a price than built to impress.
Honda CR-V Vs Honda ZR-V engine and technology comparison: The old CR-V doesn’t have much to offer in terms of technology or engines. Safety systems where always an extra cost and the difficult to update stereo system under performing for the price. The ZR-V only offers a hybrid engine option as the main selling point as quite a few features are offered by subscription only. Sure these options are largely pointless, the simply fact that you are paying them to store and possibly marketing your personal details is not the best idea in 2023. Our phones can already do that – to which limiting the functionality of your phone when connected to the HR-V is a rip off.
The conclusion and winner of the Honda CR-V Vs Honda ZR-V comparison is the ZR-V. The ZR-V wins by offering a similar size and Hybrid engine option in an arguably more modern package compared to the out going CR-V. That said the ZR-V is unfortunately not what we expected it to be and will be interesting to see how it compares to other models in our next set of focused comparisons.
