Welcome to the Mitsubishi Outback Vs Ford Escape comparison for 2022. We haven’t written a comparison for the Ford Escape for quite some time and for unknown reasons. The Ford Escape model featured here was released in 2019 but as history came to pass aka pandemic this has become a low profile release. So we where interested to see how the newest SUVs compare.
Mitsubishi Outback Vs Ford Escape exterior comparison: It’s strange how and brands car design language change. The old Ford Escape looked like the new Outlander. The new Escape is now made up of curves and has similar lines to the a Porsche SUV. In fact we where initially puzzled but the Vingale model grade which doesn’t have the Escape badging, looked like a variation of any number of the current Porsche SUVs. It does also remind us of the oval design language used by Ford in the 1990’s. Needless to say we prefer how the Ford Escape looks.
Mitsubishi Outback Vs Ford Escape interior comparison: The Outlander interior is a contemporary design that uses the same basic template as any number of SUV models on sale. Take the interior badges off and you would be hard pressed to tell it was a Mitsubishi. In comparison the Ford Escape interior is not quite up to date and has lots of curves – which like the exterior reminds us of their oval design language from the 1990’s which incidentally wasn’t appreciated. It looks OK but to be completely honest the quality of materials and design are not as good as those in the Outlander.
Mitsubishi Outback Vs Ford Escape engines and technology: It is clear that the Ford Escape has the most powerful engine compared to the Outlander. It’s fact the engine is at the top of the performance chart in medium sized (called compact class in Nth America) in the country. Overseas markets get less powerful versions which is understandable but a but of a rip off. This is arguably the last hurrah for cars with solely petrol engines and it is a good one. The Outlander looks and feel sluggish by comparison.
In conclusion and winner to the Mitsubishi Outback Vs Ford Escape comparison is a draw. If you are after performance the Ford Escape is the one to get above all else. In comparison the Outlander is the one to buy if you are after space. We know that there are wait lists for both cars
