Mitsubishi Pajero

Welcome to our comparison of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Mitsubishi Pajero.  It’s always interesting to compare a new model over an older and in this case new for 2016 the Pajero Sport and the 10 years and counting of the existing Pajero. The original Pajero was one of the best SUVs in the class and over the generations retained that lead. However something went wrong with Mitsubishi company itself and of course the competition aka the Landcruiser Prado. So with the introduction of the Pajero Sport arguably it’s eventually replacement,we decided to compare the two, the first and possibly the last time!

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Vs Mitsubishi Pajero exterior: The Pajero was initially a very modern looking 4WD wagon (see 2007 Pajero) as they where called back then. The current model is the conservative interpretation of because the initial styling was deemed to modern for the masses. The basic design is not bad to look at literally. However in 2016 there are too many shiny parts on the current model which don’t add much to the design but makes it look older! The biggest question about the design of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is that – will it’s modern looks turn off buyers? We don;t think so and its merely stands out but overall it is not that outlandish.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Vs Mitsubishi Pajero interior: The Pajero has the same interior design as released and it’s a little dated, bearing that in mind its quite a nice place to be. The design was leading edge with the lit instruments and accessory panel displays before the other SUVs started including them. Hence while presented well in 2016 everything is and feels thinner than the latest models but no less tough so you can be sure that the Pajero will stand the test of time. The Pajero Sport feels modern but not as upmarket as the Pajero in some ways but other like the steering wheel feels good. The design is conventional but everything is there. The space is the biggest difference between the two.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Vs Mitubishi Pajero engines and technology:  Both are now equipped with the latest in-car entertainment but the Pajero Sport has the latest safety systems including 4WD systems. The Pajero Sport pricing is a standout in the class for specification vs any other SUV in the class.

Mitsubishi Pajero Vs Nissan Pathfinder road test: Driven the Pajero ages ago and it was nice, not as nice as a Prado. Yet to drive the Pajero Sport so check back later.

The conclusion is simple, if you want space and proven reliability then the Pajero is the SUV to buy. If you don’t want space but the latest tech and looks then the Pajero Sport is the car to buy.
