Welcome to the new 2019 Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara comparison. Now that the Triton has been updated it’s time for a comparison with the Series 3 Nissan Navara. We like the Navara as it looks and feels modern yet familiar with plenty of configuration options however the Mitsubishi Triton is our favourite Ute for the overall package to date. Will the latest updates mean a reorganisation to our favourites list?
Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara exterior: Continual improvement and refinement is the Navara’s story. The popular press and owners have complained about various aspects of the Navara and Nissan have addressed then in every series. That means every new update is better than the original and that’s a good thing. It also says something about the original release… The Mitsubishi Triton is similar in some way similar to the Navara but it never had the expectation and the price tag. The modern styling looked good when released and little changes did help keep it up to date. However the Triton did reach a point where updated body styling was required and the new one looks great and a generation ahead of the Navara.
Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara interior: The Navara’s interior has always been a good place to be in. It’s contemporary, conservative, easy to use, integrated, looks and feels better the higher model grade you look t. The new Mitsubishi Triton’s interior is not quite as modern to be in and we think a step back in design from the superseded Triton. However the updated materials and steering wheel in particular give it is a more upmarket look when equipped. We still prefer the Navara interior despite the limited rear space and not because it can be equipped with a sunroof and a leather interior at the same time which the other utes do not have!
Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara technology: The Triton has the better 4WD system which can be used on the road for a ‘constant’ AWD and auto brakes. Sure the brakes aren’t standard but at least it is available on some models. The Triton’s new 6 speed Auto also helps in the spec comparison stakes. The Navara does not have all these features but it does have a 7 speed auto which doesn’t really help it’s safety and it does ave a twin turbo option but it’s relatively down on power compared to the single turbo in the Triton. Rather the Navara’s twin turbo doesn’t do noticeably all that much in the performance stakes? perhaps in the mid-range.
Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara street cred: The Navara used to have decent street cred but this model put a dent in that area for various problems perceived or real.
The winner of the Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara comparison is the Triton. The Triton is still a great package and it looks and better equipped than the Navara. Sure the Navara has under the body upgrades over the years and it does look good but in a conservative fashion both inside and out. However the Nissan’s generic look and albeit reduced price tag still doesn’t help it win this comparison nor does a sunroof on some models. After all the Navara while it does have a low range gear box and the optional twin turbo (but produces a relatively small amount of additional power) The lower price range is a nice for 2019 but entry level Navara is just a cheap looking as the entry level Triton but the Navara still costs $4000 more likewise the top range doesn’t have the tech features of the Triton.
