Welcome to the Suzuki Jimny Vs Holden Trax comparison. We consider this comparison an interest only one as we regard the Trax as one of the overpriced small SUV for on road drives and it has no features that separates it from its competitors where as the Jimny has the key 4WD hardware and cute but hardcore exterior.
Suzuki Jimny Vs Holden Trax exterior comparison: In terms of exterior design the Trax is a good looking smallish SUV but largely anonymous. The Jimny has always been a good looking car although ‘traditional’ 2 box off roader but it has classic design clues like the rear window and proportions that now classify it as a retro design. We like both designs for different reasons.
Suzuki Jimny Vs Holden Trax interior comparison: The Trax has an ordinary interior design, materials and quality certainly not appropriate for the asking price. That said the Trax interior is not that bad just that the competition is much better. The Jimny interior is not exactly luxury either but that’s because it is for a purpose, that is for easy maintenance for off road drives in addition it is unchanged from release yet equals or betters that the Trax (except in size) in some ways which is impressive.
Suzuki Jimny Vs Holden Trax engines and technology comparison: The Jimny has only one engine choice and its an older one but it has all the tech and is relatively current. The Trax also had older tech in the base engine but also a new turbo option which is nice but against appears to be just a turbo bolted to an equally old engine. The entertainment and safety systems are better than the Jimny but you expect that in a car released originally elegised in 2012. Apart for some airbags there isn’t much a $500 stereo upgrade in the Jimny that would put it in front of the Trax easily. Again the Trax disappoints in having less tech than others n the class but at least it has more than the Jimny as standard.
The conclusion is that the Trax is a decent small SUV but not for the price. The Trax is a high rise hatchback, offering the basics in 2016 terms for space and equipment if you can buy an auto for around $20,000 then it would a decent buy else there are better small SUVs to buy. The Jimny doesn’t sell as a commuter but mainly as an niche off roader hence the relatively high price but there is nothing else like it. More engine power and refinement will take the Jimny up to date if judge against the Trax.
