Hyundai Santa Fe

Here’s a comparison between the new Toyota Kluger and the Hyundai Santa Fe. The new 2014 Toyota Kluger is a evolutionary update of the old model and definitely improves on the package. We’re comparing the two because there are in the same price bracket. The latest Hyundai Santa Fe is a huge leap from the prior model and is a very good package but it is a size smaller than the Kluger and similar to the outdated Subaru Tribeca in size and quality but like that, the Santa Fe is not value for money.

Toyota Kluger vs Hyundai Santa Fe exterior:  The Santa Fe looks good no doubt. However like the rest of the Hyundai’s its paint work is not the best as it looks ‘cheap’ regardless of colour if you get our meaning. The Kluger is more aggressive design and looks OK. We prefer the Hyundai and wish they’d do something about the paint their using.

Toyota Kluger vs Hyundai Sana Fe interior: The Santa Fe interior is nice place to be but its not a high quality place . It has too many hard plastics or soft stuff hard look hard. The dark black and grey interior help hide that from the casual eye but seats and feel is not . The Santa Fe is a good size too but again it is not packaged to utilise space and is again too expensive for the size.  They have tried to include a third row of seats but they are tiny places to be and we think not worth the effort. Considering that there is then no space for luggage defeat the purposes of being able to carry 7 people. The Kulger on the hand it typical Toyota and is more spacious and inviting. The entry Kluger is particularly fantastic value compared to Santa Fe. The 7 seat Kluger can seat real people with great accessibility.

Toyota Kluger vs Hyundai Santa Fe engines and technology: The Kluger is only available in  petrol V6 and it is one of the best. The Hyundai Santa Fe in petrol 4 cylinder is not close when you realise how heavy it weighs. Only the turbo diesel engine can over come the deficiency but then the price is unreasonably high – but it is a good engine. The Kluger a few additional safety tech features like cameras and so forth but you’d expect that in the Toyota.

Toyota Kluger vs Hyundai Santa Fe drive : N/A

The conclusion so far is: The Santa Fe is out of its league when compared to the latest Kluger! The top of the range Santa Fe is way too expensive for the size, features and quality when compared to the Kluger. The entry level Kluger is going to be a much better option as you get way more refinement in particular quiet drive, space and just be a comfy place to be in compared to the Santa Fe. Only the diesel engine Santa Fe is the stand out. You really must compare the Santa Fe to the likes of Honda, CRV, Mazda CX-5 and you may feel better about it but its still way too expensive. Great looking Hyundai but it is only skin deep.
