Nissan Qashqai vs Holden Trax Comparison

Nissan Qashqai

VS

Holden Trax

Here is our latest Nissan Qashqai vs Holden Trax comparison.  No hiding our admiration of the latest Nissan Qashqai, though not without it’s faults it is a carefully designed small SUV package that is the one to beat. The Holden Trax was supposed to be the small sort of thing but falls short in so many ways. Even the latest engine update is not enough as the rest of the package does to attract in the showroom – how is it supposed to work with real customers? Both are have over lapping price  ranges so comparable.

Nissan Qashqai vs Holden Trax exterior: We’ve said it before but the Qashqai is arguably the best looking small SUV on the market to date. Its even gooks better in real life than pictures. The Trax is a conservative looking small SUV that is OK to look at and trying to appeal to those in the middle ground and supposedly price. However it has not quite succeeded as the Trax in its current form is overpriced but ‘cheap looking’ SUV as well only appealing to those loyal to the brand?

Nissan Qashqai vs Holden Trax interior: The Qashqai is one of the best interiors while the Trax is one of the more basic ones. Both have sufficient storage spots and features though. The Trax in particular, will no doubt be improved over the next few years. but it needs more work or a much cheaper price to be competitive. Note that cheap leather trim in any car is not luxurious or feels it. Perhaps the use of vinyl which looks just like leather would be the better choice as it looks just as good and requires next to zero maintenance. Regardless the Qashqai is the nice place to be.

Nissan Qashqai vs Holden Trax engine and technology: The Trax has up to date engine tech but little else. The rest of the car in terms of safety it has the industry standard  bags and cameras. The Trax’s in-car entertainment and communications is all up to to the usual standard but the system is a little slow as expected. The Nissan has all the same tech too and exceeds it with more camera, parking system and so forth – in most models.

Nissan Qashqai vs Subaru XV drive: N/A

It’s easy to overlook the Trax when comparing with the Qashqai which presents so much better. For what it is the Trax is also too expensive to compete, for example only $1000 less than the entry level Captiva. That said the Qashqai is not a bargain either but it’s got the look. Don’t waste your cash on the Trax and get the Nissan.
