Here is some information we found out about the various new brands that been released to the Australian market in the last year or two (2025). Information is as factual as we could find since the source material, due to the language barrier and the problem of getting real feedback from the country of origin. This week it is all about the Leapmotor brand.
Leapmotor claims to be a start-up manufacturer aka Chinese Government backed for funding and ownership.
Leapmotor has a distribution partnership with Stellantis Group which owns a number of popular brands.
They do not own or vaguely even control the actual Leapmotor company for obvious reasons.
Leapmotor currently distributes Leapmotor models and Stellantis Group aims to rebadge them for its markets.
Stellatis is not a very smart company and not long for the world.
Leapmotor does not have a notable brand image to the public except for the Stellantis connection.
Leapmotor only makes electric vehicles.
Leapmotor sells equally spec but only paper to the Tesla homages but for less initial outlay.
Other Chinese brands do it better for around the same amount of cash.
*Due to revelations on practices of other Chinese brands legal and corporate practices we will not be posting any further comparisons or reviews on these vehicles or products and certainly nothing vaguely critical. You are on your own folks.
