Welcome to the new Ford Ranger vsĀ Nissan Navara comparison for 2023. The Navara D23 or NP300 has been around for nearly 10 years with quite a few updates and revamps in that time. However it is now Ford’s turn to update the Ranger and it ia a petty decent update and perhaps the last one for this particular platform.
Ford Ranger vs new Nissan Navara exterior comparison: OK we’ve changed our minds about the design of the new Ranger update. It looks more like the high rise version of the Ford Maverick than the Toyota Tundra. The Tundra has a newer look whereas the Ranger and Maverick are on the older side of the design school. It’s not bad but not that great either – conservative Ford design language that is for sure. The Navara design started off conservative too but nicer and over the years has been updated to the current look – which is best described as falling in line with the rest of it’s competitors with an oversized front end. In the end we like the Navara design better, it is just better proportioned.
Ford Ranger vs new Nissan Navara interior comparison: The interior differences between the two is where most obvious differences and updates can be seen. The Navara interior design and materials still is good for the class however it just looks aged. The updated Ranger interior is pretty good in the class. It does depend on which model grade you get but at least the large screen help lift the ambience even in the base models. The larger Ranger interior helps also if you need or like the extra space.
Ford Ranger vs new Nissan Navara engine and technology comparison: The Navara has one diesel engine choice but two versions, one with turbo and the other with twin turbo both making decent power. Likewise the the Ranger has a V6 diesel and the V6 petrol. The Navara is much lighter so what ever power on paper the Ranger claims to is negated is notably heavier weight. Apart from that both are pretty much equal as safety and even sound system are based on model grades.
Ford Ranger vs new Nissan Navara cred comparison: As we’ve said before the Ranger has street cred and a loyal fan base so there is something in Ford=truck maker cred. However we think that only applies to the Ranger Raptor model which a genuine performance truck. It has enough cred and differences at least for now for us to compare it as a separate model. The Navara does not have that sort of cred but does have a legion of buyers of the older Navara which was so popular it sold along this one for many years.
The winner of the Ford Ranger vs new Nissan Navara comparison is a draw. Prices are pretty much the same, the gadgets also similar. Which one you buy if you don’t care about the brand will be based on price, size, looks and test drive and not a spec comparison like this.
