Welcome to the new 2025 Mitsubishi Triton Vs 2024 Mitsubishi Triton comparison. It is not often we get a new Triton or L200 model and as usual we compare the old model to the new one to see whether it is worth the buying over the older run out model. Sensibly the old model is for sale along side the new one for the time being. So how do the 2 generations of Mitsubishi Tritons compare?
New 2025 Mitsubishi Triton Vs 2024 Mitsubishi Triton exterior comparison: We like the design of the old Triton as it looks modern and mostly well proportioned. The old tray design was the biggest weakness in our view. In comparison the new Triton is good too but it is too familiar – it could be mistaken for a Ford Ranger, VW Amarok or GWM as examples. It’s loss of the Mitsubishi corporate face adds to the gentrification of the Triton in the looks department.
2025 Mitsubishi Triton Vs 2024 Mitsubishi Triton interior comparison: The older Triton interior was just that – old but it was highly customisable and certainly sturdy enough to stand the test of time we believe for nearly 20 years. It was freshened up many times over the years but clearly did go far enough unlike the exterior updates! In comparison the 2025 Triton interior in a new design that resembles Mitsubishi’s SUV range. It’s not the same interior design or materials though as this is a commercial vehicle. Overall the new interior looks and feels better than the old one and we love the retro steering wheel design. However we left with the feeling and we ‘could not quite put a finger on it’ but it felt like a significant update of the older design rather than a completely fresh start…
2025 Mitsubishi Triton Vs 2024 Mitsubishi Triton engine and technology comparison: The differences between the old and new Triton can be summarised as an updated engine and platform to keep it inline with the rest of the automotive group model. They are based on the Nissan Navara platform and to be announced Renault light commercial. There are safety upgrades and other drivetrain refinements to cater for the bigger body. Unfortunately there are no features worth highlighting in new Triton.
The winner of the 2025 Mitsubishi Triton Vs 2024 Mitsubishi Triton comparison is the older Triton. The decision for us was quite easy. The new Triton is a decent new Ute but it is just that. The older Triton may be slightly smaller and have a older styled interior but the price difference is noticeably less and you are getting same thing. Just remember these are commercial vehicles and everything else is a compromise.
