2012 Nissan Pathfinder Vs 150 Series Toyota LandCruiser Prado

Toyota LandCruiser Prado
VS
Nissan Pathfinder

Here’s a quick comparison between the 150 series Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and the updated 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. It has been a while since we’ve driven the Pathfinder and probably won’t again due to a potentially new model to be announced in a year but you should definitely consider it since it can now be optioned with the powerhouse V6 turbo diesel.

The 2012 Pathfinder is an update of a series that has been around for many years and is essentially based on the Navara with more passenger like interior trim.  The update of the Navara sees the Pathfinder updated as well with the same new dashboard and optional powerhouse V6 diesel engine.  As a direct competitor the Pathfinder is visibly older on the inside despite the upgrade but at least the exterior still is looks up to date. Hence the key selling point of the Pathfinder is the option of the new 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel that produces 170Kw and 550Nm! BUT at a very high price.

We won’t write anything further about the 150 series since we’ve already written plenty already so to conclude: the Toyota Prado, despite NOT being the most powerful, cheapest or best looking – it is the overall package that makes it the default choice for many people. However if you like the look and power of the Pathfinder than go for that.
