Mitsubishi Triton Vs Mercedes Benz X-Class comparison

Mercedes Benz X-Class
VS

Mitsubishi Triton

Welcome to the Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class for 2018. Buying the best ute for you is dependent on so many factors. All new for 2018 and based on the Mercedes Benz X-Class and is the first all purpose Ute by the company for the masses. The Triton is one of our favourite ute’s due to it’s relatively low price and specification. So is the Triton better than the X-Class?

Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class exterior comparison: The X-Class is a good looking ute but we still don’t see it as truly something different from the Navara, except from the front end. The Triton is it’s own design and unique in the Ute class and deserves credit for trying something different yet acceptable. In the end we like the X-Class better as it has better proportions although ultimately conservative.

Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class interior comparison: The X-Class has a great interior, it’s one of the best in the class that blends commercial, passenger comfort and design. It does resemble the A Class sedan interiors but with lower quality materials. The Triton nice is decent but it’s modern enough but when compared to the X-Class is cheaper feeling.  Definitely prefer the X-Class interior but remember that the base models are hard plastic equipped.

Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class street engine and technology comparison: Engines and safety systems are pretty much equal between the two models. However the X-Class can be optioned with Auto-brakes but should be standard for the price difference. The two diesel engines are the same bar the number of turbos which we think is bordering on a rip off. The X-Classe’s integrated stereo system is nice to look and sounds good for a standard system but without the Harmon Kardon setup it’s not a whole lot different to the Triton which is easily upgradeable. The Triton still has the most advanced 4WD system in the class which needs to be noted and a huge tick to private buyers. Furthermore the ability to customise the interior and infotainment system will appeal any younger tradie and fleet purchasers.

Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class street cred comparison: Street cred for a Mercedes Benz car is clear and it is hard to beat but it’s commercial vehicle range is not in the same league. It’s price and lack of reliability history means it’s expensive for the sake of being expensive which doesn’t really work. Although it looks nice it has no more street cred than the Triton.

The winner of the Mitsubishi Triton vs Mercedes-Benz X-Class comparison is the Triton. It is hard to beat the Mitsubishi Triton for value and specification in any comparison. The Triton is worth buying if you want a ute regardless of the available money factor and if you don’t consider a Mitsubishi badge any worse than the Mercedes badge. Furthermore as long as auto-brakes are an option on the X-Class and it’s price is significantly higher it’s hard for it win any comparison. You would only choose an X-Class for it’s perceived brand value or street cred.
