Welcome to the 2 wheel drive Hilux vs 2WD Mitsubishi Triton review/comparison. The two models in most parts of the world are purely commercial vehicles rather than marketed as multi-purpose.

Neither the Triton or the Hilux come in truly family friendly packages in this market since people favor the wagon and van based SUVs. These cars are also relatively expensive despite their low levels of specification and equipment which does help their popularity with non-commercial buyers.

We have drive the 4WD versions of both and the 2WD of the Hilux but not the Triton version.  We don't think we ever will purely because the Triton does not come in a package that we'd ever consider. However you may think its just the package for you hence we put this comparison up out of interest.

Specifications compared below.

Mitsubishi Triton Dual Cab 2WD
VS
Toyota Hilux Dual Cab 2WD

The interior of both cars are essentially commercial friendly so if that is what you are looking for either will meet your requirements. For example they do not come with electric windows and have vinyl flooring.

In terms of exterior presentation both the Hilux and Triton are very basic with under sized steel wheels and un-painted bumpers. The Triton is also the smaller car in terms of size. Tyres are included - but they definitely not designed for grip.

Note that since these are commercial vehicles their specifications can vary significantly.

As commercial vehicle the Triton and Hilux are amongst the best you can get however as family transport they lack lots of features, especially safety and comfort related that you expect in a car made in 2011.
