Here's a quick comparison between the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max. The D-MAX platform is sold under a variety of brand names around the world but they also sell them under their own brand now - at least in Australia.

There is not many obvious differences between the Isuzu D-max or the Colorado. Both use the same diesel engine and basic platform although the Isuzu does not come with a V6 option. Both are made in Thailand so presumably come from the same factory.

Like all the other variants of the basic car there is not anything outstanding about the D-Max. The D-Max looks dated on the in and outside. They are also overpriced and under specified despite being made in Thailand. We think your money is better spent else where unless you can get a decent saving on a new one.

See below for specification comparison.

Isuzu D-Max
VS
Toyota Hilux

Like all the D-Max variants it is smaller than the Hliux and as mentioned looks and feels like an older design. As for capability since we haven't driven this version we can't comment.

Try it and see if you like it.
