This is a comparison between the Toyota LandCruiser Prado and the Lincoln MKX. The MKX is sort of comparable to the Prado due to size and that it shares the Mazda CX-9 and Ford Edge platform. We think the Lincoln MKX variant is clearly the more stylish model of the others. Hopefully Ford will come to the same conclusion instead of stupid models they have tried on the past.

We like the MKX and hope that Ford eventually does release this version to the country rather than the plainer Edge. We prefer the design treatment better than the Mazda CX-9 which is getting old. The MKX re-design gives it a more balanced and tough yet premium look to the car.

Judging by the number of CX-9, Kulgers and Commodore station wagons on the road we think the MKX will easily compete and better them. If packaged as the versions in the US the existing models the MKX makes them look like yesterday's news. Hopefully Ford will tell us soon if the MKX does make it beyond the US market.

Lincoln MKX
VS
Toyota LandCruiser Prado

The car market is full of models which haven't worked in the country. The main problem is commitment, poor marketing and pricing. Just because something is made in the US doesn't hold much weight here. Sure we have weird ones who like to put Chevy badges on their Holdens because they think their driving a one tells you what sort of mentality they have - confused. Thankfully there aren't too many like that.

What will make a the MKX sell here (as a Ford) is that it is reliable, looks goods and has the option of a sunroof, alloys and leather trim. I not kidding that's what the masses seem to aspire to here. Don't sell the Ford Edge it looks cheap and nasty.
