Apple Mac Migration – I’m a switcher!

Yes I took the big step of deciding to move all my development to an Apple Mac and OS X Leopard. Although familiar with the OS X via the Mac Mini it just wasn’t the right time to move with all my hopes on the anticipated Windows Vista.
After over 6 months with Vista is is clear that Microsoft has no idea and certainly nothing innovative to promote about in Vista. More to the point I now re-installed XP on my development notebook. All I own that has Vista is the poor media center with the huge specs but struggles with the mere operating system.
OS X Leopard is not perfect but it works so much better than Vista.
I will have more details about my new development platform over the coming months.
Yes the Apple Ads are right – save your XP machines and if you want a new PC try a Mac.
Windows Vista in November

I’m very tired of the slowness and general interface issues with Windows Vista. In fact I’m so frustrated by so many little issues and reliability that I’ve made the decision to move to Apple Mac’s. Since the OS X installed Mac Mini I purchased 2 years ago works as it did when first purchased I realized that it is a better OS.
I researched into the various web development and publishing tools available for the Apple Mac and it covers all the stuff I need. Especially when you consider that web and file servers do most of the real work these days I can migrate platforms without too much hassle.
So next year is the year for the big move!
New Australian Government

Just a bit of late news but one worth posting for historical reasons. The citizens of Australia have voted and we now have a new Labor government and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
The previous Liberal Government lasted for 11 years and the Prime Minister John Howard for 11 years too! As a record he will be the second Australian Prime Minister to lose his own seat resulting from the election.
