Here is a comparison between the Honda CR-V and the Skoda Yeti. The Skoda Yeti is an interesting sized small SUV that is yet to be released in Australia. That said the expected Australian release date is 2012 although its been for sale since at least 2009 with very little change.

Saying the obvious, the exterior design of the Yeti is a standout. Unique and different yet conservative. It won't be confused as a premium small SUV that's for sure. However more to the point is that it looks off road capable which is bonus. The other important thing to remember about the Yeti is that is based on Golf and Tiguan at the same time which helps in the brand image and reliability stakes.

The Skoda Yeti has had good reviews from the countries that it currently sells in which is mainly Europe which doesn't mean that it will work in this country or any where else. When it does get released and if you can accept its looks then this should be included on your shopping list. For now we present the specification comparison.

Skoda Yeti
VS
Honda CRV

The Skoda brand was tarnished by its history of making poorly built or reliable cars. However since the purchase by Volkswagen the brand has had a noticeable upgrade in its brand image due to the use of older VW platforms as a base to build their cars.

In terms of exterior presentation the Yeti is probably as good as any VW. The Skoda's don't really have a design theme we can readily identify yet - but at least the quality should be more than acceptable.

The interior presentation and quality of the Skoda Yeti based on the experience with other Skoda's should be very good too. We can already say it will be better than the designs used by Nissan and as good as the latest Korean designs. Judging by the looks it will the Yeti will be a comfortable place to sit in.
